A gold coloured metal badge with a 2.2cm wide badge face and a safety clasp style fastener to the rear. This is an historic pin badge, made for tmembers of the World Youth Festival also known as the FMJD or Federation Mondiale de la Jeunesse Democratique. It has the group slogan YOUTH UNITE ! FORWARD FOR LASTING PEACE.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
The World Festival of Youth and Students is an international event, organized by the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY), a left-wing youth organization, jointly with the International Union of Students since 1947.
There have been 17 events to date, the first was in Prague two years after the end of WW2.
