  • This badge is from the DTSB the former East German sports association. The badge face is 2cm wide and has a safety clasp style fastener to the rear. Featuring laurel leaves. My notes tell me this is the version of the badge introduced in 1976, but I can no longer find the source of this information.
  • The two holes in the badge are used to attach metal plates with placings in sports events such as '1st' ,'2nd' or '3rd'
  • The DTSB was a mass sports organization of former East Germany, founded in April 1957 it became the governing body for all sports in former East Germany and was involved in grass roots sporting events for children in schools.
