A very rare, numbered, 1946 gold coloured metal pin badge from the very first IUS meeting in Prague, Czechoslovakia when the organisation were trying to forge social bonds after the devastation of WW2. 

The badge face is 3cm wide and has a safety clasp style fastener to the rear. It features the IUS logo and the text (in Latin) congressus studiosorum orbis terrarium meaning 'Earth congress'. The badge is numbered 275 and the box is also numbered 275.

There is some damage to the box. At the hinged section, the box is only opening and closing on the hinge thanks to the fact that the interior red cloth is still attached to the box edges.

This is a rare, antique pin badge and it is in good condition.
