- A pretty gold coloured pin badge from Angola. A vintage political stickpin representing the MPLA (Movimento Popular de Libertação de Angola), known in English as the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola.
The badge face is 2.8cm high and has a safety clasp style fastener to the rear.
- Founded in December 1956, the MPLA began as a left-wing nationalist movement fighting for independence against Portuguese colonial rule. Backed heavily by the Soviet Union and Cuba during the Cold War era, it transitioned from a guerrilla movement into Angola's ruling political party upon independence in 1975—a position it still holds
