- A large, gold metal pin badge 3cm high with a safety clasp style pin fastener to the rear. Celebrating the Hungarian pioneer movement.
- Featuring the text KISDOBOSA OF THE HUNGARIAN REPUBLIC
- The Kisdobosok (Little Drummers) was the state-run youth organization for primary school children in grades 1 through 3 (roughly ages 6 to 9). It served as the introductory, junior tier of the broader Hungarian Pioneer Movement (Úttörőmozgalom). Upon reaching the 4th grade, children would officially graduate from being a Kisdobos and move up to become full Pioneers, trading this blue-themed badge and their blue neckerchiefs for red ones
- The Hungarian Peoples' Republic was formed in 1949 and with its formation, 3 stages of left leaning youth groups were created.
- The 6-10 year olds would become 'young drummers'
- The 11-14 year olds would become 'pioneers'
- Secondary school students would join KISZ, the youth communist movement.
