Vintage 1930's International Transport Workers' Federation ITF Pin Badge

A pretty pin badge from the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF)

The badge face is 1.8cm high, made from a gold coloured metal and has a long stick pin fastener to the rear. I would guess that this is a 1930's/1940's manufacture.

• "GES. GESCH." (Top):
  This stands for Gesetzlich Geschützt, which translates to "Legally Protected" or "Copyrighted/Patented." It was the standard German legal marking used before and during the mid-20th century, similar to "Pat. Pending" or "Registered" in English.
• "A. STÜBBE" (Middle Left):
  This is the manufacturer's mark, identifying the specific maker or metal workshop that pressed and enameled the badge.
• "ALTONA" (Middle Right):
  This identifies the location of the manufacturer. Altona is a prominent, historic district in Hamburg, Germany. Notably, Hamburg is one of Europe's largest port cities with a massive history of maritime labor, dockworker strikes, and transport trade unions—making it a major hub for producing ITF materials.
• "ELBE 2" or "ELBE 12" (Bottom):
  The word "Elbe" refers to the major river that runs directly through Hamburg and Altona out to the North Sea. The number following it most likely indicates the street address, workshop block number, or a specific local district zone code for the manufacturer along the river.
