- A pretty, silver coloured metal pin badge in good condition from East Germany. The Amateurfunk-Leistungsabzeichen (Amateur Radio Proficiency Badge) was awarded by the GST (Gesellschaft für Sport und Technik / Association for Sports and Technology), which was a paramilitarily structured mass organization in the German Democratic Republic (GDR/DDR)
- Introduced in the late 1950s, this badge was awarded to youth and hobbyists who achieved specific milestones in radio operations, such as Morse code speed proficiency, radio direction finding ("fox hunting"), or building functioning amateur radio equipment.
- The badge face is 2.6cm high and has a safety clasp fastener to the rear.
