- A gold coloured, metal badge 3cm wide with a long stick pin style fastener to the rear. advertising the MS Völkerfreundschaft which was home-ported in Rostock and purchased for the Free German Trade Union Federation who were the governing trade union association in former East Germany.
- In 1964 the ship was put under the management of the Free German Trade Union Federation, but would be chartered out to western European countries for a majority of the year.
