- A silver coloured, metal badge 2cm high with a stick pin style fastener to the rear. Made for members of the Free German Trade Union Federation who were the governing trade union association in former East Germany.
- Formed in 1946 and dissolved in 1990.
- Featuring a red socialist background colour and a handshake logo with the text FDGB meaning Freier Deutscher Gewerkschaftsbund
- The number 50 seems to indicate 50 years of union membership. But this must include membership of the precursor of the FDGB since pins with '75' exist. If it indicated 75 years of the FDGB it would date the pin to 2021 (which can't be correct)
