  • The "Golden One" was awarded in the former DDR for successful proof of basic knowledge in the context of road safety in East Germany, with an emphasis on knowledge of road safety when using a bicycle. The badge showed the number “1” in the middle of a stylized ribbon on which the year of the award was stamped. It was the successor to the "For a good knowledge of traffic regulations" badge that existed until 1969.


  • It is 2.1cm in diameter and has a safety clasp style fastener to the rear.
