• This is a bronze coloured plastic badge from the DTSB the former East German sports association.

  The badge face is 3cm wide and has a safety clasp style pin fastener to the rear.

  The text around the badge face says BSG Empor Oberbarenburg, the name of a former sports club, and featured a boy on a sledge.

  Historical Background

  The DTSB was a mass sports organization of former East Germany, founded in April 1957 it became the governing body for all sports in former East Germany and was involved in grass roots sporting events for children in schools.
