This is a rare gold coloured metal badge from the former national airline of Bulgaria Balkan, who were previously called Tabso and a major passenger carrier in the 1970's.
The badge has a long stick pin style fastener and is 1.5cm in diameter.
This pin dates from sometime after 1959 when this logo was first used.

Balkan Airlines was Bulgaria's government-owned flag carrier between 1947 and 2002. During the 1970s the airline became a significant European carrier.
The company encountered financial instability following the fall of communism in Eastern Europe. It declared bankruptcy in 2002.
