A metal pin badge with a 2.2cm high badge face and the text PCO which means Civil Defense Readiness in Czech. This pin is from former Czechoslovakia and belonged to a civil defense worker.
The rear side has a long, stick pin style fastener. The picture features factory chimneys and a bridge in front of the city with an enemy plane caught in a searchlight beam.

The badge face is star shaped to mimic the red star of socialism
During the height of the cold war, Czechoslovakia took its civil defense duties very seriously and to this day monthly sirens tests are carried out throughout Prague.
The most common civil defense duties were ushering civilians towards shelters, enforcing blackout regulations and distributing gas masks.
