| Product Description : LZ Harcov Hunters Hunting Union Membership Roaring Golden Deer Stag Pin Badge - An antique gold coloured metal hunting themed pin from former Czechoslovakia, it is 2cm high and has a long, stick pin style fastener to the rear. Featuring the text 'LZ Harcov', it would have been worn by members of the hunting union in the city of Harcov. The LZ stands for 'Lesní Zkouska' which is, roughly translated, 'Forest Group'. The deer head is raised in 3D to excellent effect.
In Czechoslovakia and in much of middle Europe; hunting and forestry have a rich tradition stretching back hundreds of years.
Traditional hunting uniforms are still worn and age old customs observed. During the hunting season it is common to see hunting parties gathering in the early morning preparing for the daily hunt. The principal quarry are wild boars, deer, foxes, grouse and duck.
