  The badge face is 2cm high and has a stick pin style fastener to the rear. Featuring laurel leaves and the slogan BEREIT ZUR ARBEIT UND ZUR VERTEIDIGUNG DER HEIMAT meaning ready to work and to defend the homeland.

  Historical Background

  The DTSB was a mass sports organization of former East Germany, founded in 1950 it became the governing body for all sports in former East Germany and was involved in grass roots sporting events for children in schools.
