- A pretty gold coloured metal pin badge. The badge face is 1.4cm wide and has a long stick pin style fastener to the rear.
-
Featuring the text RUDE PRAVO SLAVNOST or RUDE PRAVO CELEBRATION.
- Rudé právo was founded in 1920 and was the official newspaper of the Communist party in Czechoslovakia.
- Just to future proof the page, I'll explain..... most newspapers were printed daily consisting of folded unstapled sheets of paper containing news articles. You had to wait until the morning to get the news from the previous day which you could buy from a newsagent's shop.
- It was fun to go on holiday and look for a newspaper from your home country to see if you had missed anything important and the one you found would typically be a few days old and 5 times the price that you would have paid at home. When you had finished reading it you could roll it up and swat flies with it or make it into a hat or a funnel or even a palm tree (not a very good one though). It was even acceptable to cover your face with it to prevent sunburn. Not like the rubbish internet of today it involved patience and attention. See you missed all that didn't you ! Life was better in the past and you know it.....
- Slavnost Rudeho Prave was a series of cultural and sports programs that took place every year on the third Sunday in September on the occasion of the commemoration of the day of the first edition of Rude Pravo in 1920.
- You can see on the poster below the typical logo in use and a feel for the importance of the events.
