• This is a rare gold coloured metal pin badge from the 1978 Mayday celebrations in Havirov in former Czechoslovakia. The badge face is 1.8cm wide and the reverse side has a long, stick pin style fastener.

  Mayday parades are still held to this day in The Czech Republic, they have always been based around the welcoming of springtime after the long, cold winter. Typically youth groups and fraternal organisations would parade down the streets along a specified route. Trade unions and the military would also march the route bearing banners and flags and to this day it is quite a spectacle
