• An medal style pin badge made from a silver coloured metal. The badge face is 4.5cm high in total and has a safety clasp style fastener to the rear of the 'ribbon' part. Featuring the slogan fur den schutz der arbeiter und bauern macht meaning 'FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE WORKERS AND FARMERS POWER'.

  The slogan repeats that which can be found on the East German Distinguised Service Medal.

  The badge itself is a 1970 replica of the Distinguised Service Medal that seems to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the end of WW2.
