This is a very pretty Luna 9 pin badge celebrating the successful launch of the probe. A gold coloured metal badge, the badge face is 2cm high and has a clasp style fastener to the rear. Featuring a a Soviet flag on the Moon.
Historical Background
Luna 9 was an unmanned space mission of the Soviet Union's Luna programme. On 3 February 1966 the Luna 9 spacecraft became the first spacecraft to achieve a soft landing on the Moon.
