  • A 1959 pin badge from the Leipzig trade fair,  it is made of metal and has a safety clasp style fastener to the rear. The badge face is 3.7cm wide and features the MM logo.
  • The Leipzig Trade Fair ( Leipziger Messe ) can trace its roots back centuries. But the more modern trade fair with purpose built halls and pavilions came into existence in 1920.
  • The fair played an important role in Cold War diplomacy between East Germany and the Western states, as it facilitated delegations from numerous major NATO powers, including the United States and United Kingdom.
