  • A rare 1957 gold coloured metal pin badge.

The badge face is 3.3cm high and to the rear is a safety clasp style fastener.

  • This is a vintage Soviet youth festival pin from 1957, minted at the famous "Pobeda" (Victory) Factory in Moscow
  • It was issued for the Gorky Regional Youth Festival (Горьковский областной фестиваль), which served as a regional lead-up celebration to the massive VI World Festival of Youth and Students hosted in Moscow that same year.

  • "ГОРЬКОВСКИЙ ОБЛАСТНОЙ ФЕСТИВАЛЬ • 1957": The circular green enamel border translates to "Gorky Regional Festival • 1957." Gorky is the Soviet-era name for the historical city of Nizhny Novgorod.
  • The Walking Deer / Stag: The central figure is a golden stag against a green background, which is the official historic heraldic coat of arms for the city and region of Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod).
  • The Burning Torch: The top of the pin features a stylized, waving red enamel flame atop a golden torch, symbolizing youth, energy, and the spirit of global solidarity that defined the 1957 festival movement.
These regional festivals were a major cultural phenomenon in the summer of 1957, organizing local athletic events, parades, and musical showcases across various Soviet provinces before sending top delegations to the main international forum in Moscow
