- A pretty, gold coloured metal medal. The badge face is 4.2cm high and has a safety clasp style fastener to the rear.
- In 1955, the Standing Committee of the First National People's Congress passed the Regulations on Medals and Medals, establishing the August 1st Medal and the August 1st Medal as a commendation for those who made contributions during the revolutionary war.
- - The August 1st Medal is awarded to officers and soldiers below the company level who joined the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army before July 6, 1937, but did not meet the conditions for awarding the third-class August 1st Medal, and is an important honorary certificate for those who joined the army during the agrarian revolution.
- - This medal is an important part of the 1955 army-wide award, and together with the August 1st Medal, the Medal of Independence and Freedom, and the Liberation Medal, it constitutes the merit commendation system of the first generation of the army of New China.
- - Main body: Composed of a red enamel five-pointed star (embedded with the golden word "Bayi") and a red fan-shaped buckle, it is made of copper gilt + enamel technology, and the overall shape is simple and has distinctive military symbol characteristics.
- - Craftsmanship: The edges of the pentagram are hemmed with gold, the enamel is brightly colored, and the scalloped texture and rivet decoration on the hook reflect the craftsmanship of military production in the 50s.
