  This is a 1954 National Front Workers pin badge from former Berlin in East Germany, the text fur den freiwilligen aufbau means 'For Voluntary Building Work'

  HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

  The National integration ( NAW ) of the GDR, founded in November 1951, was originally intended to implement projects in the capital and was leter extended to the whole country.

  NAW workers were voluntary and took part in a collective rebuilding of Eastern Germany.
