• A very pretty gold coloured metal pin badge from former Czechoslovakia.

  The badge face is 3cm high and has a long stick pin style fastener to the rear.
  The badge text reads National Wings.

  Featuring aircraft over the image of Benes, who died in 1948.

  During his presidency he identified the importance of military aviation in Czechoslovakia and initiated the Wings over Czechoslovakia policy that trained many hundreds of aviators prior to the outbreak of WW2.

  Many Czech aviators fled to the UK to fly for the allies in 1938 when Germany annexed Czechoslovakia.
