It was designed by  Zbrojovka of Brno, the weapons company that changed focus to motorcycles  after WW2 and manufactured in Slovakia in the city of Povazska  Bystrica in the vast engineering halls of \nPovazske  strojarne, making it the first mass produced motorcycle to be produced  in Slovakia.
