Featuring the text Rude Pravo Slavnost and the date 1979.\u003cp\u003eRude Pravo would hold a cultural and sporting celebration in Prague every year in September, coinciding with the first publication of Rude Pravo. This tradition started\nin 1937 and by 1950 a long distance run was also held on the day.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eHistorical Background\u003c\/h3\u003e\nRude Pravo was the official newspaper of the communist government and from 1948 onwards was the best selling newspaper in the country.\n\u003cp\u003e\nRude pravo had a circulation of over one million daily, making it the most widely read newspaper in Czechoslovakia. However, the manner in which the communist government ensured that it remained so were hardly legitimate marketing tactics.
